Job summary

Ara Poutama Aotearoa, Department of Corrections in Auckland, is seeking a People Adviser to partner with frontline managers and provide general HR advice, coaching, and support across the organisation. You will deliver day-to-day guidance on employment relationships, people processes and policy, while building strong working relationships and contributing to capability uplift.

Hybrid work and site travel are required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing generalist HR advice to managers and staff.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and its application.
• Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills.
• Ability to build strong, professional working relationships.
• Comfort with multiple systems and quickly learning new platforms.
• Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid environment with a full NZ Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide general People & Capability advice to line managers.
• Respond to employment-related queries and staff support.
• Advise managers on people-related processes and policies.
• Collaborate with the People Services team to deliver services.
• Travel across sites as required.
