Job summary

Wellington City Council seeks an experienced Team Leader Pedestrian Network Maintenance to guide the delivery of maintenance across our pedestrian network in Wellington CBD. You will oversee a team, manage contractors and ensure work is safe, high quality and on budget, while balancing community expectations.

You will lead planning and delivery improvements, monitor contractor performance and foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the Council and community.

Qualifications

• 5+ years people leadership experience.
• Strong project and contract management experience in infrastructure maintenance or physical works delivery.
• Experience managing contractor performance, quality assurance, budgets and contract delivery.
• Strong technical understanding of pedestrian infrastructure maintenance (footpaths, kerb and channel, signage, street furniture, line marking).
• Excellent relationship management and communication with contractors, Council teams and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of maintenance across the pedestrian network and oversee a team.
• Manage contractor performance, budgets and safety across footpaths, kerbs and channels, signage and street furniture.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to deliver work to high standards within budget.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to plan and deliver improvements and maintain service levels.
