Job summary

Ventia in Wellington is seeking a Traffic Controller to support essential road maintenance and civil works across the region. Based in Wellington, you will help keep road users, pedestrians and crews safe while delivering critical transport services.

The role covers setting up and maintaining temporary traffic management, coordinating Stop/Go operations, site setup and pack-down, and daily site operations. A safety-focused, outdoor, hands-on position with training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic management, road safety, or civil works.
• Strong focus on health and safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and remove traffic management equipment and signs.
• Manage Stop/Go operations and traffic flow around worksites.
• Assist with site setup, pack-down, and general labouring duties.
• Complete traffic management documentation and checks.
• Monitor site safety and identify hazards.
• Support team to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
• Participate in emergency callouts when required.
• Provide excellent service to clients and road users.
