Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Payroll Technical and Compliance Specialist to ensure payroll systems are compliant with Holidays Act 2003 and related legislation. You will lead testing, data integrity checks and provide technical advice across PSe, Leader and WFD, collaborating with Payroll Systems and People and Culture teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in IT or a related discipline.
• At least five years' payroll experience within a large, complex environment.
• Solid understanding of payroll legislation including Holidays Act 2003 and KiwiSaver.
• Experience with payroll system testing, data validation and QA.

Responsabilités

• Provide assurance that payroll system changes comply with legislation.
• Oversee testing, QA and documentation validation for changes.
• Monitor payroll data integrity across systems and investigate discrepancies.
• Develop and validate regular payroll reports and pay-cycle checks.
• Implement controls to minimise errors and detect potential fraud.
• Support Holidays Act 2003 compliance reconciliations and explain outcomes.
• Provide technical advice on complex payroll system issues.
• Review procedures and deliver training to strengthen capability.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve processes.
• Liaise with vendors and stakeholders for system improvements.
• Provide specialist payroll advice to projects involving payroll systems.
