Job summary

Westpac New Zealand Limited is seeking an experienced professional to support the governance and operational management of its payment services. You will coordinate industry engagement, regulatory reporting and cross‑domain support across payment rails and standards.

You will influence policy, monitor regulatory changes and drive improvements in resilience, reporting and stakeholder communications. A strong background in payments and executive communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic payments, transaction banking or related industry.
• Understanding of payment methods, clearing and settlement arrangements.
• Knowledge of payment-system rules, standards, obligations, risk and regulatory requirements.
• Experience engaging regulators, industry bodies and external stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to translate industry developments into actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive papers and briefings.

Responsibilities

• Support management of Westpac NZ's payment rails, standards and operating frameworks.
• Coordinate industry engagement, governance, reporting and issue resolution.
• Oversee payment industry rules, standards and procedures across systems.
• Coordinate participation in industry bodies and working groups.
• Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate impact assessments and communications.
• Manage industry obligations, attestations, audits and regulatory reporting.
• Governance and reporting for Payment Services including dashboards and metrics.
• Resolve payment-related operational issues with cross-functional teams.
• Support testing, readiness and implementation of industry changes.
