Westpac New Zealand is seeking a role focused on governing payment services, attending industry bodies and coordinating cross-functional activities. You will monitor rules, coordinate obligations, and provide operational support across payment systems to ensure compliance and resilience.

This position involves engagement with regulators and industry groups, producing executive-level briefings and dashboards to drive improvements and maintain effective payment operations.

Qualificações

• Experience in domestic payments, transaction banking, clearing systems, financial services or a related industry.
• Understanding of payment methods, clearing and settlement arrangements.
• Knowledge of payment-system rules, standards, participation obligations, operational risk, resilience and regulatory requirements.
• Experience engaging with regulators, industry bodies, standards organisations, working groups and external stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking and analytical capability, with the ability to assess industry developments and translate them into business impacts, recommendations and actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive papers, consultation responses, submissions and briefing materials.

Responsabilidades

• Support the effective management of Westpac New Zealand's payment rails, standards, participation obligations and operating frameworks.
• Coordinate day-to-day industry engagement, governance, reporting, obligations management and operational issue resolution across payment services.
• Maintain oversight of payment industry rules, standards, participation requirements and operating procedures across all payment systems.
• Coordinate Westpac's participation in industry bodies, operational forums and working groups.
• Monitor industry, regulatory and standards change, coordinating impact assessments, implementation activities and stakeholder communications.
• Manage and coordinate industry obligations, including attestations, scheme requirements, participation commitments, consultations, audits and regulatory reporting activities.
• Manage Payment Services governance and reporting, including dashboards, scorecards, metrics, management reporting, action tracking and insights.
• Coordinate the resolution of payment-related operational issues, incidents and industry queries.
• Support industry testing, readiness and implementation activities associated with industry change, rule updates and ecosystem developments.
• Identify and drive process, control and reporting improvements that enhance operational effectiveness, compliance, resilience and visibility.
• Provide cross-domain expertise and operational support across all payment types, maintaining broad payments knowledge.
