Job summary

PayPlus in Auckland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop and extend our payment platforms and integrations. You will own backend services, APIs and data flows that connect EFTPOS, POS, merchant websites and payment gateways.

You will work across design, development, testing and deployment, ensuring secure, scalable software and clear technical documentation for internal teams and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with APIs, web services and third-party system integrations.
• Strong design, development and system integration capabilities.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications for PayPlus' payment systems.
• Develop backend services and APIs for payment processing and integrations.
• Integrate PayPlus with external providers and merchant platforms.
• Test, debug and ensure secure, scalable software; document software architecture.
• Support deployment and maintain code quality through CI/CD where applicable.
