Job summary

PayPlus in Auckland, New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate and improve our payment software platform. You will build backend services, APIs, and integrations with EFTPOS, POS, vending, and online gateways while ensuring security, reliability and scalability; the role includes testing, documentation and production support.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in software design, system integration and secure development

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/SE/IT or related field.
At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
Experience with APIs, web services and third-party integrations.
Strong software design and system integration capabilities.
Knowledge of secure development principles and data security.
Proficiency with relational databases and data structures.
Experience with version control and modern development practices.
Strong written documentation skills and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, modify and maintain PayPlus software applications.
Develop and maintain integrations with external payment providers and merchant platforms.
Develop APIs and web services for payment processing.
Ensure security, reliability and scalability of software systems.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Assist with deployments and production support.
