Job summary

Persol is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join a high-volume meat processing facility catering for 300-400 employees daily. The role involves baking a variety of pastries, ensuring high presentation standards, and supporting meal service for a large workforce.

You'll work 5 days per week with weekend availability, shifts between 5:00am and 1:00pm, and 8-hour days. Full-time permanent contract with training, PPE, and an onsite canteen. NZ citizen or permanent resident required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' pastry chef or baking experience.
• Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen preferred.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, slices, muffins, and other baked goods.
• Ensure products are consistently presented to a high standard.
• Assist with general food preparation and cooking duties.
• Support meal service for a large workforce.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Assist with stock rotation and other general kitchen duties as required.
