Job summary

Tradestaff is partnering with a growing underground gold mining operation in New Zealand to recruit Paste Crew Operators. You'll play a key role in supporting paste fill delivery underground, across paste reticulation and pipelines to ensure safe, efficient production.

The role offers a competitive salary package with accommodation allowance, private health insurance, and a 7 days on / 7 days off roster as the mine progresses towards long‑term growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in an underground hard rock mining environment.
• Paste crew or paste fill experience.
• Current Driver Licence and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground paste fill systems and associated equipment.
• Install, extend and maintain underground paste lines.
• Monitor paste flow, pressures and fill performance.
• Complete paste line changeovers and extensions.
• Inspect pipelines and identify leaks, blockages or faults.
• Assist with maintenance and repairs to paste infrastructure.
• Complete pre-starts, inspections and operational records.
• Work closely with production, maintenance and technical teams.
• Maintain safe underground work areas and follow site procedures.

About the Role

As a Paste Crew Operator, you'll play an important role in underground production, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of paste fill throughout the mine.

You’ll work across underground paste reticulation, pipelines and associated equipment to ensure fill activities are completed safely and in line with production requirements.

About YouWe're looking for underground operators who bring:

• Previous experience in an underground hard rock mining environment
• Paste crew, paste fill, backfill or underground services experience
• Experience working with underground pipelines and reticulation
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem‑solving skills
• Current Driver Licence
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work effectively as part of an underground mining crew

Desirable

• Underground gold or metalliferous mining experience
• Paste plant or paste distribution experience
• Confined Space certification
• Working at Heights certification
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Additional underground mining tickets or qualifications
