Qualifications

• Proven Jumbo Operator experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Narrow Vein (NV) mining experience is highly regarded.
• Strong development drilling experience.
• Experience operating modern underground jumbo equipment.
• Good understanding of underground ground conditions and support requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground development jumbos safely and efficiently.
• Carry out face drilling, ground support and development drilling.
• Complete accurate drilling in line with mine plans and specifications.
• Operate in narrow vein underground mining areas where required.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Identify and report ground conditions, hazards and equipment issues.
• Work closely with Charge Up Operators and underground crews.
• Maintain high standards of safety and productivity.

Tradestaff is partnering with a growing underground gold mining operation to recruit experienced Jumbo Operators, including operators with Narrow Vein (NV) experience.

About the Role

As a Jumbo Operator, you'll be responsible for safe and accurate underground development drilling, working closely with supervisors and the wider mining team to achieve development targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate underground development jumbos safely and efficiently
• Carry out face drilling, ground support and development drilling
• Complete accurate drilling in line with mine plans and specifications
• Operate in narrow vein underground mining areas where required
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks

About You

We’re looking for experienced underground operators who bring:

• Proven Jumbo Operator experience in underground hard rock mining
• Narrow Vein (NV) mining experience is highly regarded
• Strong development drilling experience
• Experience operating modern underground jumbo equipment
• Good understanding of underground ground conditions and support requirements
• Current Driver Licence
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work effectively as part of an underground mining crew

Desirable

• Underground gold or metalliferous mining experience
• Experience across multiple jumbo models
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Additional underground mining tickets or qualifications
