Job summary

Tradestaff is partnering with a growing underground gold mining operation to recruit a Shotcrete Sprayer. The role is based in West Coast (Reefton) with a 7 days on / 7 days off roster and DIDO arrangements.

You will provide essential ground support, spraying shotcrete across headings, backs and walls, ensuring safety and quality on site. A long-term career with development opportunities awaits.

Qualifications

• Underground shotcrete spraying experience required.
• Experience in hard rock mining environments preferred.
• Strong safety focus and mechanical aptitude required.

Responsibilities

• Operate underground shotcrete spraying equipment.
• Apply shotcrete to headings, backs and walls.
• Ensure correct thickness, coverage and finish.
• Prepare work areas and equipment for spraying.
• Conduct pre-starts and report hazards.

About the Role

As a Shotcrete Sprayer you'll provide critical ground support across underground development areas, safely applying shotcrete to headings, backs and walls.
Working alongside development and ground support crews, you'll ensure spraying is completed safely and to the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate underground shotcrete spraying equipment
• Apply shotcrete to headings, backs and walls
• Achieve required thickness, coverage and finish
• Prepare work areas and equipment for spraying
• Complete pre-starts and routine equipment checks
• Identify and report ground conditions and hazards
• Clean and maintain spraying equipment
• Work closely with development and ground support crews

About You

We're looking for operators with:

• Proven underground shotcrete spraying experience
• Experience within hard rock mining environments
• Experience operating mechanised shotcrete equipment
• Good understanding of underground ground support
• Strong equipment awareness and mechanical aptitude
• Current Driver Licence
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work effectively within an underground crew

Desirable

• Underground gold or metalliferous mining experience
• Normet Spraymec or similar equipment experience
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Additional underground mining tickets or qualifications
