Job summary

NZCL in Wellington is seeking a part-time Support Worker to assist rangitahi and families, empowering them to live valued lives on their own terms. The role involves a Tue–Sat roster and community/home-based support.

Responsibilities include helping young people access education, monitor wellbeing, and tailor supports to family goals. A compassionate, culturally aware approach is essential, with prior experience in disability support preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting rangitahi/young people is preferred.
• Ability to work the Tuesday–Saturday roster.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to learn and follow NZQA training.

Responsibilities

• Support families in home and community to live fulfilling lives.
• Assist rangitahi to access education and attend activities.
• Monitor health concerns and wellbeing of the young person.
• Help rangitahi work toward goals and outcomes.
• Tailor supports to family needs with a holistic approach.
