Job summary

NZ Safety Blackwoods Gisborne Trade Centre is seeking a Trade Sales Assistant to deliver outstanding service across retail and trade customers. You’ll support sales, stock, displays and branch operations while helping customers find the right solutions.

Part-time role, 18 hours a week, Monday and Tuesday, with in-store, phone and email contact. You’ll build product knowledge, maintain merchandising standards and work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, trade, warehousing or customer service experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time management abilities.
• Confidence using computer systems and technology.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in-store, over the phone and via email.
• Provide product advice, quotations and order support.
• Build relationships with trade and retail customers.
• Resolve customer queries and ensure positive outcomes.
• Work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams to meet customer requirements.
• Deliver excellence in customer service across all touchpoints.
• Receive, unpack and replenish stock.
• Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders.
• Support stock control, transfers and backorder management.
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory activities.
• Maintain branch documentation and point-of-sale transactions.
• Maintain a clean, organised Trade Centre environment.
• Ensure displays and merchandising standards are high.
• Support pricing updates and promotions.
• Keep stock, showroom and storage areas tidy and safe.
