Job summary

Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu (WHS) invites applications for a suitably qualified Teacher Aide to join the He Kākano team for Term 1, 2027. The position is 28 hours per week, term time only, exclusive of annual leave, with start date subject to police vetting clearance.

The successful candidate will support ORS funded students in mainstream classes and work with students with complex intellectual and behavioural needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with students with intellectual and behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience and adaptability.
• Willingness to learn about Mātauranga Māori and bicultural education.

Responsibilities

• Support ORS funded students in mainstream classes.
• Provide supervision at breaktimes and one-to-one care for feeding and toileting.
• Support teachers across a range of subjects in He Kākano and in the mainstream.
