Job summary

Rosehill School in Auckland is seeking a Casual Kaiawhina to support students with autism, learning, and communication needs across base and satellite units in Papakura, Takanini and Manurewa. You will work in a collaborative team, help create a safe, structured learning environment, and assist students in classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient, and confident working with children and young people.
• Dependable, flexible, and willing to learn.
• Strong communicators with good spoken and written English.
• Team-focused and committed to supporting others.
• Experience with autism or intellectual disabilities is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a supportive and collaborative team on an as-required basis.
• Support ākonga with a range of learning, communication, behavioural, and developmental needs.
• Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Assist students to participate in classroom programmes and school activities.
• Build positive relationships and act as a strong role model for young people.
• Support students during indoor and outdoor learning experiences, community-based activities, and recreation programmes.
