Job summary

Kapiti Coast District Council’s Paraparaumu Library is seeking a Library Systems Administrator to strengthen digital access and learning across our district. This role focuses on managing the Spydus system, supporting digital services, and training staff to build digital confidence.

Based at Paraparaumu Library, the 20-hour-per-week position may require travel to other sites for support and staff training within the Kapiti district.

Qualifications

• Sound experience with a library management system.
• Digitally savvy with strong digital literacy across platforms.
• Ability to teach and share processes with customers and staff.
• Awareness of Te Ao Maori perspectives and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in libraries.
• Demonstrated problem solving with proactive and positive attitude.
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
• Effective time management and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Holder of a current NZ driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage library collection management system (Spydus) and back-end services.
• Maintain reliable and efficient digital and IT systems.
• Provide staff training on library systems.
• Support libraries district-wide and travel to sites for support as needed.
