Job summary

Team Global Express NZ in Christchurch is seeking a motivated Parcel Sorter to support safe handling of freight and on-time delivery across the branch. The role runs Monday to Friday, 10:30am–7:00pm, with duties including loading/unloading freight, documentation, and safe equipment operation.

You will be expected to maintain a strong health and safety focus, work with freight, and adhere to processes that protect damaged or leaking goods, while contributing to team goals and clear communication

Qualifications

• To be successful in this role, you will be physically fit, have excellent team coordination skills, and have some experience working with freight.
• Prior work experience in the freight industry.
• A strong health and safety focus.
• F endorsed licence (preferred but not essential).
• Prior long fork experience (preferred but not essential).
• An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure documentation accompanying freight is complete.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Action bay labels, re-stacking of damaged freight, protecting leaking product.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment.
