Job summary

Starship Child Health in Auckland is seeking a Clinician to join our Paediatric Physiotherapy team. This permanent, full-time role provides high-quality clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings for children and adolescents, with a collaborative, whānau-centred approach.

You will work within a vibrant team of therapists and specialists, participate in 24/7 rosters, and contribute to ongoing professional development and culturally safe practice with emphasis on Māori health outcomes.

Qualifications

• NZ registration with Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Excellent relationship-building and communication with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Strong clinical reasoning and use of evidence-informed practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including children and whānau.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality physiotherapy service to children across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver whānau-centred care.
• Participate in rostered 24/7 service including weekend and on-call cover.

About the Role

Starship Child Health is looking for a Clinician to join our Paediatric Physiotherapy team. This role will provide high quality clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Your passion for paediatrics and experience applying clinical knowledge is welcomed in providing premium healthcare services to our tamariki and youth. This is a permanent, full-time role and forms part of the wider paediatric physiotherapy team. You will have the opportunity to: Provide a physiotherapy service to children and adolescents across acute inpatient and outpatient settingsCollaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide a whānau-centred approachDemonstrate a robust level of contemporary physiotherapy theory and practice to provide effective assessment and interventions, whilst establishing enabling relationships with children and their whānau (family)Remain focused in the pursuit of Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori under the Te Tiriti obligationsDemonstrate culturally safe practice that encompasses a diverse range of beliefs, values and practicesParticipate in a rostered 24 hour 7 days service providing weekend and on call physiotherapy including an extended hours/evening serviceThrive within a vibrant, innovative and diverse setting amongst a supportive interdisciplinary team of consultants, nurse specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, social workers, dietitians, hospital play specialists and team support.

Our team of Physiotherapists excel in a fast-paced, challenging environment where evidence-based practice, strengths in interdisciplinary practice, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills are highly valued. About you

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes: NZ registration as a Physiotherapist with current Annual Practicing CertificateMinimum 2+ years of post-graduate clinical work experienceExcellent skills in relationship building and communication to a broad range of stakeholdersSound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practiceAbility to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary settingEffective time management, prioritisation and organisation skillsExperience or a desire to work with children and whānauDrive, energy and initiative with excellent interpersonal skills
