Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District invites applications from an enthusiastic experienced physiotherapist with a passion for paediatrics to join the Wellington Regional Hospital team. The role covers paediatrics across inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on tamariki, rangatahi and whānau, and includes working on call and weekend rosters.

The position offers 1.4 FTE with flexible hours (full or part-time) and will contribute to a range of clinical areas including NICU and ICU support

  • Support tamariki and their whānau with a range of musculoskeletal, developmental and respiratory needs.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend rosters at Wellington Regional Hospital.

This role is primarily based in Te Wao Nui, our new purpose built child health service for tamariki, rangatahi and whānau of Central New Zealand. Physiotherapists and allied health team members based at Te Wao Nui work in a range of clinical areas. Our paediatric team consists of four experienced clinicians and a rotational therapist.

This team cover a range of clinical areas, working closely with tamariki and their whānau. Within the in-patient environment they work on the paediatric wards, NICU and with children receiving care in ICU. Within out-patients, the physios support tamariki and their whānau with musculoskeletal, developmental and respiratory issues.

The paediatric allied health team are focussed on improving and optimising the journey of tamariki and their whānau. Current projects that they are working on include working alongside orthopaedic surgeons in clinic, planned care pathways, rehabilitation after cancer treatment, developing lung ultrasound skills and NICU developmental pathways.

This role also includes working on the on call and weekend roster covering Wellington Regional Hospital.

The Wellington Physiotherapy Team work predominantly in the inpatient setting at Wellington Regional Hospital. Our friendly, enthusiastic team includes coordinators, expert, advanced, experienced and rotational physiotherapists

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced physiotherapist with drive and a passion for paediatrics. Working with a diverse group of patients with significant health needs, you - ll demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills and have a flexible, problem solving approach. We work closely as a team across the inpatient service (adult and paediatric), so inter-professional and inter-specialism skills are key.

We have 1.4 FTE available so welcome applicants for full or part-time hours. The clinical work covers all aspects of paediatrics so are looking to build a team with a broad range of skills and flexibility across the clinical spectrum.
