Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites a NZ registered Occupational Therapist to join the Starship Community Occupational Therapy team. Focus is paediatric care, home and community visits, and collaborative practice with the multidisciplinary team.

The role is a fixed term, fulltime position for parental leave cover until 22 Oct 2027, based at Greenlane Clinical Centre with most work in the community. Applicants must have APC and NZ OT registration.

Qualifications

NZ registration as an Occupational Therapist with a current APC.
2+ years of post- graduate clinical experience.
Passion for improving outcomes for children.
Clean, full NZ driver’s license.
Excellent clinical reasoning and evidence-informed practice.
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals in a bicultural setting.
Strong time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment and therapy to children with developmental and disability needs.
Conduct visits to see children in their homes, early childhood centres and other community settings.
Work as part of the Starship Child Health directorate with an interdisciplinary team.
Participate in weekend and on-call roster.
Engage with communities to remove inequities and barriers to care.
