Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern is seeking Registered Nurses for our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) in Hamilton. You will care for patients recovering from anaesthesia across neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, paediatrics, general surgery and more, with both collaborative and autonomous practice in a fast-paced environment.

We provide a comprehensive orientation to PACU, support for professional development, and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in PACU nursing, critical care or acute surgical nursing is essential.
• A minimum of two years post registration experience in an acute care setting in a NZ tertiary hospital.
• Be flexible in work hours with varied start times to meet the 24 hour service, including on-call roster.
• Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and computer literacy skills.
• Legal right to work in NZ (NZ citizen, permanent resident, Australian work visa).
• Annual Practicing Certificate held with the Nursing Council of NZ.
