Job summary

Southern Cross Healthcare’s Hamilton hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our PACU team for a 12-month fixed-term role covering parental leave. You will deliver high-quality post-anaesthetic care, monitor patients, and collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons and theatre staff to ensure safe, comfortable recovery.

The role offers flexible part-time hours, requires APC and at least two years’ PACU/ICU/acute surgical experience, and a patient-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current APC.
• Minimum of two years' nursing experience in PACU, ICU, or acute surgical setting.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and patient monitoring skills.
• Patient-focused approach with commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-anaesthetic care in PACU.
• Monitor patients and respond to changing needs.
• Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons, theatre teams and nursing staff.
