Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato Hospital is seeking a proactive PACS Administrator to join our experienced team on a fixed-term basis to support parental leave cover. You will oversee day-to-day administration of PACS, RIS and associated clinical imaging workflows to ensure reliable access to imaging for clinicians across Waikato and the Te Manawa Taki region.

Qualifications

• A relevant background or qualification in information systems, information technology, digital health or medical imaging
• Knowledge of medical imaging workflows, standards and terminology, including DICOM and HL7
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• The ability to prioritise work, operate independently and contribute effectively as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
• The ability and willingness to participate in the after-hours on-call support roster
• A medical imaging qualification and current registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board, where applicable
• Experience supporting PACS, RIS, healthcare applications, general radiography or other clinical environments
• Experience working with vendors and ICT infrastructure or integration teams
• Experience with DICOM troubleshooting, HL7 interfaces or modality worklists

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and supporting the reliable availability of medical images and reports for clinical teams
• Investigating and resolving PACS, RIS, image distribution and workflow issues
• Supporting system upgrades, testing and service improvements in collaboration with clinical teams, ICT teams and vendors
• Maintaining the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of clinical imaging information
• Participating in the after-hours on-call support roster
• Providing clear and responsive support to internal and external users
