Job summary

T&G Global Limited in Hastings, NZ, is seeking a hands-on Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team during peak packing season. You’ll maintain and improve packhouse equipment, troubleshoot faults, and drive root-cause analysis to improve uptime.

This permanent, full-time role requires a recognised engineering trade qualification, at least 4 years of experience in production machinery, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering trade qualification.
• At least 4 years’ experience maintaining production machinery.
• Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience using workshop machinery and tools.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with maintenance systems.
• A strong focus on workplace health and safety.
• The ability to work shifts and be flexible during the peak apple season.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance across packhouse equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults and breakdowns.
• Identifying root causes and implementing long‑term solutions.
• Supporting maintenance planning and work order management.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records within our CMMS system.
• Assisting with permits, compliance checks, and safety processes.
• Building strong relationships across operations, engineering, and external suppliers.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that increase reliability and performance.
