Job summary

OfficeMax New Zealand in Auckland is seeking a Specialist Sales – Packaging Solutions to work on-site with customers, learn their operations, identify opportunities, and recommend packaging solutions that drive growth.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager for Packaging & Safety, you will build relationships, manage the sales pipeline, and represent OfficeMax in the field with expert packaging knowledge and sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in business development or specialist sales, ideally in packaging or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of packaging products and market applications.
• Proven track record of winning new business and meeting targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to work on-site across Auckland region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Packaging category sales and margin growth, customer satisfaction and retention targets.
• Collaborate with the broader sales team to identify and grow opportunities.
• Build and maintain a sales pipeline, qualify opportunities, and convert.
• Represent OfficeMax in the field with packaging expertise and solutions.
• Coordinate responses to tenders and RFPs within packaging.
• Act as technical SME on packaging products including sustainability aspects.
• Collaborate with buyers and suppliers to source packaging products for customers.
• Keep pipeline and customer activity up to date in Salesforce.
