Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking a Wakeover Support Worker to provide an overnight, safe, calm, and supportive environment for rangatahi with high and complex needs. You’ll perform wellbeing checks, support healthy sleep routines, and help maintain a welcoming night-time atmosphere across a residential service.

Experience with youth in health or social services is preferred. Candidates must hold NZ Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or plan to achieve it, have a NZ driver’s licence, and be

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth in mental health, addiction, disability or social services is preferred.
• NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Level 4 or a plan to achieve this mandatory requirement.
• Full NZ working rights and a valid NZ driver’s licence.
• First Aid Certificate including CPR or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to work independently overnight and maintain safety.
• Ongoing learning and training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive overnight environment.
• Complete regular wellbeing checks and support healthy sleep routines.
• Support medication processes as required.
• Complete documentation and administration tasks.
• Maintain hygiene and household standards within the service.
• Provide compassionate support to rangatahi with high and complex needs.
