Job summary

Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands in Paihia is seeking an Overnight Operations Lead to manage all hotel activities during the night shift, ensuring guest comfort and safety. You will oversee nightly audits, respond to issues, and hand over clearly to the day team.

The role requires 1–2 years in front office or night audit, independent judgment, and strong guest service skills. Hours are 40 per week, with a permanent full-time contract.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in front office, hotel operations, or night audit.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions overnight.
• Strong communication, problem solving and guest service skills.
• Willing to work permanent overnight shifts, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage all overnight hotel operations and act as primary guest contact at night.
• Deliver exceptional guest service, handle enquiries and complaints.
• Conduct nightly audit and reconcile accommodation and F&B transactions.
• Monitor security and safety; respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare daily operational/financial reports and handover to morning team.
• Maintain presentation standards in reception and public areas.
