Job summary

Whakatāne District Council is seeking a practical Reticulation Service Assistant to help inspect, maintain and operate our water, wastewater and stormwater assets. This hands-on, outdoors role offers variety and real community impact.

You’ll carry out maintenance, respond to service requests, collect asset information and support safe, reliable networks. Opportunities for training and career progression are available within the water industry.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, construction, drainage, utilities or similar practical work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Willingness to learn and progress within the water industry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and operate Council's water, wastewater and stormwater assets.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs and undertake inspections.
• Respond to service requests and collect asset information.
• Help ensure networks operate safely and efficiently for the community.
