Job summary

Whakatāne District Council is recruiting a Reticulation Service Assistant to help inspect, maintain and operate our water, wastewater and stormwater assets in Whakatāne.

You will carry out maintenance and repairs, undertake inspections, respond to service requests, and collect asset information to keep networks safe and reliable for the community. There may be opportunities to move into a rostered on-call service as you develop skills and progress within the water industry.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, construction, drainage, utilities or similar practical work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Willingness to learn and progress within the water industry.
• Heavy vehicle, WTR or STMS qualifications would be an advantage, but training can be provided.
