Job summary

Tiaki Wai is seeking a motivated and reliable Serviceperson Drainage to maintain and improve the region’s wastewater and stormwater networks. This is a hands-on role with a rewarding career in the infrastructure sector and a supportive team.

You will perform maintenance and repairs on drainage infrastructure, operate CCTV/jetting equipment, respond to overflows, and participate in standby rosters while upholding health and safety standards. Training is provided and licences are required.

Qualifications

• Be reliable and hard-working with a safety-first mindset.
• Hold a valid Class 1 Licence (minimum) and be able to obtain WTR and Class 2 licences.
• Experience in civil/construction or drainage is preferred.
• Comfortable using hand tools and small plant on site.
• Able to record information using digital devices (iPad/tablet).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair drainage and stormwater infrastructure.
• Install, unblock and repair drainage pipes, mains, valves and connections.
• Set and repair manhole covers and frames.
• Operate CCTV, jetting and root-cutting equipment.
• Use small plant and machinery safely, including excavators.
• Respond to drainage overflows and emergencies.
• Participate in standby roster and callout duties.
• Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders.
• Work safely following environmental and quality standards.
