Job summary

Whakatāne District Council is seeking a dedicated water and wastewater operator to help keep our community’s drinking water safe and our networks working. You’ll monitor and operate treatment plants, test water quality, maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues to meet standards.

A roster includes weekend and after-hours duties as required. Ideally you hold a National Certificate in Water or Wastewater Treatment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating water or wastewater treatment plants.
• National Certificate in Water or Wastewater Treatment preferred.
• Commitment to health and safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate treatment plants.
• Test water quality and adjust processes.
• Maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Join roster for weekend and after-hours duties.
