Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Health in Blenheim seeks a carpenter/landscape construction professional for a long-term, temp-to-perm position with the Construction Team. You will work on decking, fencing, and outdoor structures alongside the team, with duties ranging from reading plans to timber construction and formwork, in varied outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience as Carpenter or Landscape Construction Professional.
• Ability to read plans and interpret measurements accurately.
• Proven timber construction and outdoor-structure experience.
• Experience with concrete formwork/finishing is desirable.
• Strong work ethic and focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow plans, drawings, and site instructions.
• Measure, cut and install timber formwork for paths, driveways and foundations.
• Construct outdoor structures: fences, screens, pergolas, retaining walls framing.
• Prepare formwork for concrete pours.
• Install decking, seating, stairs and balustrades; assist with concrete pours.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Follow health and safety policies; work collaboratively with the team.
