Job summary

The Rees Hotel Queenstown is seeking passionate hospitality professionals to join our team. We welcome applicants with hospitality experience and a drive to develop their careers in a luxury hotel environment.

Roles are permanent, full-time, across multiple shifts including days, evenings and nights. Minimum 30 hours per week with up to 50 hours. Join us for a rewarding career with excellent guest experiences and career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of hospitality experience.
• Full driver’s licence preferred; P endorsement beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong English language skills, written and verbal.
• High initiative with problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure rooms and public areas are maintained to established standards.
• Provide service and preparations in food and beverage outlets for guests.
• Process shift charges and balance daily takings.
• Assist guests with baggage and check-in/check-out procedures.
• Operate guest shuttles and company vehicles.
• Maintain hygiene in food preparation and service areas.
• Assist maintenance with cleaning and project work across the hotel.

Job description

If you have a true enthusiasm for hospitality and a passion for delighting guests, we want to hear from you!

You will bring experience from the hospitality industry and be keen to develop your skill set and progress your career.

You will have a primary department assigned but may be working across multiple areas of the hotel as guest requirements demand.

The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day and you can expect to be working across day shift, evening shift and/or night shift.

These are permanent roles and we’re recruiting for 8 positions.

Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

• Ensuring rooms and public areas are maintained to our established standards

• Service and service preparations in our food and beverage outlets, ensuring guests receive a truly memorable experience

• Processing shift charges to appropriate accounts and completing daily shift balances

• Assisting guests with baggage on arrival and departure, and following check-in and check-out procedures

• Operating guest shuttles and driving company vehicles

• Cleaning food preparation and service handling areas and food and beverage equipment with an emphasis on impeccable hygiene practices

• Assisting maintenance team with detail cleaning and project work across the hotel

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in hospitality

• Full driver licence desirable, with P endorsement beneficial

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and respectfully with guests and staff

• Strong English language skills, written and verbal

• High level of initiative, problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
