Job summary

Red Badge Group is seeking an Operations Manager for Tauranga to lead our guarding and event security services, building a scalable local operation and ensuring service quality. You will coach frontline staff, plan rosters, manage customer relationships, and drive adherence to KPIs, safety, and contractual obligations, with some frontline duties during peak periods.

• Achieve budget and monthly financial reporting.
• As Tauranga operation grows, frontline duties may be required.

Red Badge Group is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to support and grow our Tauranga operations across both guarding and event security.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate and capable people leader, who excels at building strong customer relationships, while enjoying still being actively involved in the day-to-day service delivery. You'll play a key role in growing and leading our local workforce in Tauranga, maintaining operational standards, and helping Red Badge continue to grow across the Bay of Plenty.

This role will be working a Friday to Monday schedule and must be available to provide after-hours support when needed to help keep our operations running smoothly.

About the Role

As the Operations Manager - Tauranga, you will support the delivery of quality guarding and event security services, while helping build a scalable local operation.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching, and supporting frontline team members
• Planning rosters and maintaining readiness for planned and reactive work
• Delivering on our customer KPIs, service standards, and contractual obligations
• Building strong Tauranga customer relationships and acting as a key operational contact
• Conducting site assessments, attending customer meetings, and supporting tenders & contract mobilisation processes
• Identifying opportunities to improve and grow our services
• H&S reporting, risk assessments, incident follow-up, and operational reporting
• Achieving budget and completing monthly financial reporting

As the Tauranga operation continues to grow, this role will include some frontline duties. This may include guarding, event support, operational coverage, and hands‑on leadership during busy periods or key customer requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Experience leading, coaching and developing frontline operational teams
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills
• Experience with rostering, workforce planning, and day‑to‑day operations
• Commercially aware, with an understanding of wage, travel, and operational cost control
• Confidence working autonomously and building local operations through strong people leadership
• Strong attention to detail across systems, reporting, compliance, and follow‑up
• A practical, hands‑on leadership style
• Security, guarding, patrol, events, venue, or relevant customer sector experience would be advantageous
• A current Certificate of Approval or be able to obtain one.
• A Full Clean New Zealand Drivers License.
