Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a Specialist in Macraes Open Pit Workshop to own and optimise engineering repairs and projects. The role reports to Maintenance Superintendent and liaises with contractors to scope repair processes on mobile equipment.

The position operates on a 9-day fortnight roster, with regular planning meetings and a focus on safe working practices. A NZ Working Visa is required and a competitive salary plus bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• National Certificate in Engineering - Fabrication (Level 4) or similar.
• At least 5 years working in an open pit mining environment.
• Full, clean and current driver licence, confidence driving a manual vehicle over rough terrain is essential.
• This role requires the successful applicant to hold an unrestricted New Zealand Working Visa.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering personnel to maintain safety and work quality.
• Provide complete work scopes for repairs and refurbishments to wear items.
• Audit inspections and monitor wear package materials; advise on GET selection.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping in the engineering workshop and facilities.
• Plan and supervise engineering projects with Boilermakers and contractors.
