Job summary

Direction Recruitment is seeking a Site Supervisor / Project Supervisor for civil, water and infrastructure projects in Whangārei and Northland. The role involves hands-on supervision, coordinating on-site teams, and delivering works safely, on time and within budget.

You will manage multiple crews, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and ensure quality standards across active sites. A strong leadership mindset and practical problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in civil, water or infrastructure.
• Proven ability to plan works and coordinate onsite teams.
• Strong communication with clients and subcontractors; manage budgets and timelines.
• Desirable Level 4 Water qualification and water reticulation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day site works.
• Lead and support multiple onsite teams across active work areas.
• Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress and identify delays, risks or issues early.
• Help ensure projects remain on programme and work continues efficiently.
• Promote strong health and safety practices onsite.
