Placements24 is seeking an experienced On-Site Maintenance Engineer to join our client's critical operations team in Queenstown, NZ. You will perform proactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs to ensure uptime of complex industrial equipment.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering and has hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and field service engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in on-site maintenance in Installation & Maintenance.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and ability to diagnose complex faults.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Execute timely and effective repairs, including component replacements and system overhauls.
• Oversee and participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, including equipment history, parts used, and labor involved.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site operations staff as needed.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.

You will be responsible for proactive maintenance, swift diagnostics, and effective repairs, playing a key role in minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineering professional with a robust understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, committed to delivering exceptional on‑site service within the Installation & Maintenance sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of industrial machinery and equipment.

• Strong expertise in diagnosing and repairing complex industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with relevant diagnostic software and testing equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel frequently within the Eastern Cape region.
