Job summary

Reboot Monkey seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site contract work in Taupo District, NZ. The role involves hands-on hardware installs, cabling, server racking, and cross-connects in mission-critical facilities.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers, strong cabling and server hardware knowledge, and professional English communication. On-site presence and own transport are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in data center or IT infrastructure.
• Ability to perform hardware installations, migrations, and decommissions.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a and fiber).
• Experience with server hardware from Dell/HP/Supermicro.
• Proficient in English and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
