Job summary

Reboot Monkey seeks a Data Center Technician to join our Hobsonville facility in Auckland, New Zealand. This full-time, on-site role supports critical infrastructure across server and network equipment, structured cabling, and capacity planning, with on-call rotations and nights/weekends where applicable.

The role emphasizes maintainance, documentation, and collaboration with engineering and operations to ensure high reliability in world-class data center environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience
• Strong cabling skills (Cat6/6a, fiber optic)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Excellent documentation and communication
• Experience with DCIM platforms (preferred)
• Knowledge of power distribution and UPS systems (preferred)
• Experience with rack and stack operations

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
