Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for contract work in the Kapiti Coast District, New Zealand. The role involves on-site support for mission-critical infrastructure, including hardware installations, cabling, server racking, and coordination with NOC teams.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers, strong cabling and server hardware experience, and proficient English communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infra experience required.
• Strong cabling skills (copper & fiber) and server hardware knowledge.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber).
• Rack, stack, and label servers.
• Conduct cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
