Job summary

SGS in New Zealand seeks an experienced field operations professional to deliver high-quality testing and inspection services while upholding safety and quality. This hands-on role covers fieldwork, equipment management, data reporting, and mentoring teammates to develop technical competencies.

You will work across well testing and offshore operations, support customer inquiries, and participate in safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in oilfield well site services, well testing, offshore operations, or early production systems.
• Strong hands-on experience across well testing and production operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising small teams in a field-based environment.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic reporting systems.
• A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional service in demanding operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver field-based testing and inspection activities in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all equipment is available, maintained, calibrated, and ready for use.
• Collect, record, and report accurate data and results.
• Support customer enquiries and provide technical assistance when required.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and competency development of team members.
• Communicate project updates and operational changes to supervisors.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and operational reviews.
• Develop and maintain the skills required to work in remote and offshore environments.
