Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a Production Team Leader for the Quality Bakers site in East Tamaki, Auckland. Lead a dedicated baking production team, support the Production Manager, ensure KPI delivery, DIFOT and line utilization, and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.

You will mentor team members, drive quality and safety initiatives, and manage shift activities with effective communication. A strong background in food manufacturing and SAP/SHE systems is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing at a team lead or supervisory level.
• Exposure to Quality Assurance and Food Safety Systems.
• Ability to drive health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance.
• Strong communication and leadership for shift teams.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop direct reports to enable timely decision making.
• Deliver high quality finished product while complying with Food Safety Systems.
• Oversee plant hygiene and cleaning to required standards and times.
• Lead toolbox meetings and shift handovers; address SHE/Quality issues.

As Team Leader you will provide support to the Production Manager in ensuring the shift team are correctly allocated to deliver on performance in KPIs, DIFOT, Waste %, line utilization, and productivity.Other responsibilities include:Mentor and develop direct reports so that they are able to make decisions in a timely manner as they relate to productionDeliver high quality finished product by ensuring compliance to all Food Safety Systems and ensure that action is taken to escalate and resolve issues in a timely manner.Oversee the hygiene of the plant by ensuring cleaning occurs at correct times and to the correct standardManage the shift production team via tool box meetings (shift Handover, Daily Direction Setting, TALK meetings) & elevate issues relating to SHE and QualityTo be successful in your application, you will have:Experience in the food manufacturing at a Team Lead or Supervisory levelMachine operation and/or engineering management practiceExposure to Quality Assurance and Food Safety SystemsA great attitude towards health and safetyAbility to drive performanceEffective communication skillsSAP and SHE systems experience (desirable)You will be joining a driven team of professionals who genuinely enjoy working together resulting in a highly collaborative and flexible work environment making some of New Zealand's most loved baked brands.
