Job summary

ExtraStaff is seeking experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers for an immediate start in Christchurch. Night shift, 4:30pm–2:30am, transporting aggregate across Canterbury with safety as a priority. Opportunities for ongoing work with weekly pay and holiday pay.

Candidates must have a full Class 5 license, Road Ranger gearbox experience, and strong reversing skills suitable for tight quarry spaces. PPE provided and supportive site procedures followed.

• Experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes and confidently jackknifing trailers.
• Strong reversing skills and ability to work independently in busy quarry environments.

About the Role

ExtraStaff are seeking experienced Class 5 Truck & Trailer Drivers for an immediate start, ongoing role with a leading Christchurch-based employer. This is a nightshift position operating between quarries and customer sites, transporting aggregate and quarry materials across Canterbury. We're looking for confident, safety-focused drivers with strong truck and trailer experience who are comfortable operating in busy quarry and construction environments.

What We're Looking For

• Full Class 5 License
• Proven Truck & Trailer experience
• Experience operating Road Ranger gearboxes
• Ability to jackknife trailers confidently
• Strong reversing skills, including maneuvering into tight spaces
• Experience carting aggregate, quarry materials, or bulk products preferred
• Reliable transport and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and follow site procedures
• Commitment to workplace health and safety

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Physically fit and capable of working long shifts
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
• Previous heavy transport experience essential
• Ability to work ongoingnightshift hours
• should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
