Job summary

Prime Kitchens in Christchurch, Canterbury is hiring two enthusiastic kitchen assistants to join our busy restaurant team. This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week, and pay rates between $24 and $30 per hour depending on experience.

You will clean kitchens, assist with food prep and service, follow hygiene practices, and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Local NZ residents are preferred; visa status will be considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen cleaning and food prep areas.
• Able to lift heavy items and work in peak times.
• Good personal hygiene and reliability.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Follow cleaning rosters and deep-clean floors, walls, ovens.
• Clean kitchens, prep areas, sculleries and utensils.
• Prepare ingredients and trays for serving.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and hygienic handling.
• Maintain equipment and report safety issues.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and floor staff.
