Job summary

Sudima Christchurch City Hotel is seeking a friendly Kitchen Hand to join our busy kitchen team on a part-time basis. The role offers a minimum of 5 hours per week at $25 per hour and is ideal for reliable, practical individuals who enjoy hands-on work and working in a hospitality environment.

You will wash dishes, assist with food prep, follow hygiene standards and support the Head Chef and team to keep the kitchen clean, well-organised and efficient.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy practical work and be reliable.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Able to work under pressure and maintain hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean utensils and dishes and store appropriately.
• Handle, sort, and distribute food items.
• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare food and assist with salads and desserts.
• Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling; launder kitchen linen.
• Follow strict health and hygiene standards and maintain a cooperative team environment.
