The role involves cleaning, food prep, and supporting the kitchen during peak periods in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A friendly, positive personality and physical fitness are essential, with flexibility for evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Follow the regular daily, weekly and monthly cleaning rosters and standard methods for deep cleaning of floors, walls, coolers, ovens and operating equipment.
• Clean kitchens, food preparation areas and sculleries
• Clean cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants
• Clean all dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and equipment
• Assemble and prepare ingredients for cooking, and prepare salads and sandwiches
• Packing food and beverage trays for serving
• Cooking, toasting and heating simple food items
• Assist with preparation for the day ahead as directed by the chef
• Maintain the kitchen equipment and report health and safety issues
• Follow systems and procedures for hygienic food handling
• Organise the disposal of rubbish
• Assist with preparing and serving orders if required
• Clear communication within the kitchen and with floor staff
