Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd in Auckland is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreperson for night shifts to lead crews, manage on-site operations and ensure safety and quality standards. You will coordinate labour, plant and materials, with occasional day and weekend work and a hands-on leadership style.

The role requires proven surfacing experience, strong leadership, excellent communication and a clear focus on health and safety. Class 1 and 2 licenses with WTR endorsements are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in asphalt road surfacing and previous experience leading or supervising a surfacing crew.
• Strong understanding of asphalt laying, compaction and finished surface quality requirements.
• Confidence coordinating people, plant and materials in a fast-moving site environment.
• Good communication skills, a practical hands-on approach, and a strong focus on health and safety.
• Full Class 1 and Class 2 driver licences with WTR endorsement and additional licence classes would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate asphalt and surfacing crews on site.
• Organise daily work activities, labour, plant and materials.
• Oversee paving and surfacing operations to meet plans, specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain strong health, safety and wellbeing standards, including pre-starts, toolbox talks and site documentation.
• Keep jobs moving by working closely with supervisors, managers, subcontractors and other site teams.
