Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreperson to lead crews, coordinate daily surfacing activities, and stay hands-on as needed. Nightshift predominates, with occasional day and weekend work to keep projects moving.

This role requires proven asphalt surfacing experience, strong leadership, and a solid focus on health and safety to deliver durable, high-quality pavement works.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in asphalt road surfacing and supervising a surfacing crew.
• Strong understanding of asphalt laying, compaction and finished surface quality.
• Confidence coordinating people, plant and materials in a fast-moving site environment.
• Good communication, hands-on approach, and strong health and safety focus.
• Full Class 1 and Class 2 driver licences with WTR endorsement, advantageous.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreperson to lead from the front and keep work moving safely, smoothly and to a high standard. You’ll coordinate site crews, plant, materials and day-to-day surfacing activity, while staying hands-on when needed. _ Most of this work is nightshift, with day shift and weekend work required at times. _

This is a role for someone who knows asphalt surfacing, can bring people together on site, and takes pride in delivering good work that is safe, efficient and built to last.

• Keep jobs moving by working closely with supervisors, managers, subcontractors and other site teams.

• Proven experience in asphalt road surfacing and previous experience leading or supervising a surfacing crew.
• Strong understanding of asphalt laying, compaction and finished surface quality requirements.
• Confidence coordinating people, plant and materials in a fast-moving site environment.
• Good communication skills, a practical hands-on approach, and a strong focus on health and safety.
• Full Class 1 and Class 2 driver licences with WTR endorsement and additional licence classes would be an advantage.
