Job summary

Hamilton East School is seeking a motivated kaiako to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for Years 1–8 students. The role involves delivering English, health, physical education, languages, mathematics, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori, and the arts, while building strong learner-focused relationships.

The successful candidate will weave te reo Māori into daily practice and deliver formal reo instruction, supporting learners with diverse needs and English

Qualifications

  • Experience with structured literacy and updated mathematics curriculum (advantage).
  • Ability to cater for learners with special needs and English Language Learners.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment for primary and intermediate students.

We are seeking a motivated kaiako to play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where our aakonga can reach their full potential.

Key requirements
  • Relationships and expectations: Positive behavioural expectations and the ability to build strong, learner-focused relationships.
  • Literacy and maths: Experience with structured literacy and the updated mathematics curriculum (an advantage).
  • Inclusive practice: Ability to cater for learners with special needs and English Language Learners (ELL) through inclusive practices.
  • Te Ao Maaori and Reo: Commitment to weaving te reo Maaori into daily practice, as well as delivering formal reo instruction.
